The Fairview Methodist Church was built in 1869. In 1870 a cemetery was established adjoining the church property. The deed for the cemetery was sold to the Trustees of Fairview Cemetery Association for one dollar.

Fairview Cemetery is owned by the Fairview Cemetery Association and is located 3.5 miles south of Papillion at 90th and Fairview Road. The cemetery is no longer connected with the Methodist Church and the original church building was moved to a nearby farm.

“Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one’s head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forget life, to be at peace.”

— Oscar Wilde
